Meghalaya chief minister Conrad Sangma along with a delegation of cabinet ministers called on Union Coal Minister, Piyush Goyal in New Delhi.

As per reports, the delegation discussed the matter of lifting NGT ban on coal mining in Meghalaya with the Union Coal Minister.

Sangma was accompanied by cabinet ministers Prestone Tynsong, Metbah Lyngdoh and Banteidor Lyngdoh.

The delegation is also expected to call on Prime Minister Narendra Modi later to discuss the issue.

The Meghalaya Cabinet had earlier this week decided to pursue the resolution passed by the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly in 2015 for lifting of coal ban in the state.
