Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh inaugurated Eco-Tourism Project at Thangmeiband Cheirao Ching in Imphal West District on Feb 25.
The Eco-Tourism Project was developed under Ministry of Department of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), Non-Lapsable Central Pool of Resources (NLCPR).
Speaking at the occasion, Chief Minister Singh said that the newly launched project will increase leisure activities and attract more tourists to the state. The foundation stone for Cheirao Ching Eco-Tourism Project developed at an estimated cost of around 15 crores rupees was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit in March 2018.
The government is planning to install electric cars for old-aged and differently-abled people, who wish to reach the towers located on the hill-top.
Tourism Minister Oinam Lukhoi, CAF and PD Minister Thokchom Satyabrata, Deputy Speaker Shri Kongkham Robindro, and Thangmeiband AC MLA Shri Kh. Joykishan, Chief Secretary Dr. Rajesh Kumar, and other high-ranking officials also attended the function among others.
