With steep rise of shocking incidents in Assam, a woman was allegedly strangled to death by her husband at Dangori tea estate under Talup police outpost in upper Assam’s Tinsukia district.
The accused has been identified as one Monoj Kurmi, who allegedly killed his wife Mamoni Kurmi on April 8 after an argument between the two. According to Police, Monoj buried the body of his wife in an 8 foot deep pit, which was dug to build a new toilet in the backyard of the house.
However, police got whiff of the crime and recovered the decomposed body in presence of the Tinsukia district magistrate on Wednesday afternoon. Later, the accused was arrested and reportedly admitted to his crime before the police saying that he killed his wife under the influence of alcohol. The incident has created sensation in the area.
