Pushkar Singh Dhami took oath as the 11th Chief Minister of Uttarakhand for a second term at Dehradun’s Parade Ground.
The swearing-in ceremony attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, BJP president JP Nadda and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and his counterparts from Madhya Pradesh and Haryana were also present at the ceremony.
Along with Dhami, his Cabinet also took oath during the ceremony.
Dhami was elected leader of the BJP legislature party in Uttarakhand on Monday. Dhami lost the election from Khatima seat to Congress candidate Bhuwan Chandra Kapri.
Worth mentioning here, the BJP won 47 seats in the 70-member Assembly in the recently concluded state elections. With this, the BJP has become the first party ever in Uttarakhand’s 21-year-old history to return to power in consecutive elections.
