The NESO and AAPSU along with several other student organizations of Aruanachal Pradesh have strongly condemned the death of an individual and injury to another during the encounter between security forces and suspected NSCN-IM rebels in Arunachal’s Tirap district on Sunday.
NESO Vice President Meje Taku stated that members of the AAPSU, All Tirap District Students Union, Nocte Students Union and Tutsa Students Union also visited the encounter site. Members of the students groups also took stock of the health condition of the injured civilian who is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Eastern Assam’s Dibrugarh district.
The student bodies have urged upon the Arunachal Pradesh government to find a permanent solution to the insurgency problem and secure the lives of the residents of the insurgency-infested Tirap-Changlang-Longding region.
