In a bid to pay fitting honour to Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy for his valour and courage in the face of Russian invasion, Aromica Tea Company has dedicated the newest brew of a strong ”Assam black tea” to president Zelekskyy.
Named ‘Zelenskyy’, the new tea is a perfect blend of the artisanal-handcrafted orthodox tea and CTC.
Director of Aromica tea Ranjit Baruah said that he was trying to draw an analogy between Ukrainian president’s valour and courage and that of the new Assam tea.
Elucidating the new brew, Ranjit Baruah said while orthodox tea provides flavour, the CTC adds the extra punch.
Baruah further added that Assam tea is known for its pleasant flavour and bold taste, and seeing how the Ukrainian president has stood in face of adversity, it seemed more fitting to name this blend after him.
Meanwhile, According to Tea Board data, Russia, which is the largest importer of Indian tea, had sourced 34.09 million kg of brew in 2021. Ukraine, on the other hand, imported 1.73 million kg tea from India during the year.
