Sensation prevails in the Rohmoria area in eastern Assam’s Dibrugarh district following a mob lynching case at Dholajan tea estate. According to reports, an angry mob lynched 35 year old Sunit Tanti and then set his body on fire. The mob was agitated since Sunit had earlier in the day allegedly beheaded a 5 year old boy. As the news of Sunit murdering the minor spread in the locality, agitated locals caught hold of Sunit and lynched him.

Meanwhile, Dibrugarh SP Swetank Mishra who visited the site of the incident said that the victim Sunit Tanti was suffering from some mental illness due to which he might have killed the boy.

The situation in the area is tense following the incident with CRPF personnel being deployed to maintain law and order.
