Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, UDA chairman TR Zeliang and deputy Chief Minister Yanthungo Patton will be leaving for the national capital on the 10th of March in connection with the Naga issue. This has been confirmed to Northeast Live by UDA chairman and NPF leader TR Zeliang who also informed that the Naga leaders will be meeting Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
This was decided in a meeting of the Core Committee of Parliamentary Panel on Naga political issue with the NNPGs to expedite the process for a solution to the decades-long Naga issue. Zeliang said that the Nagaland delegation led by Chief Minister Rio will seek to know from the Centre about what best steps it has taken to resolve the Naga issue. T
The UDA chairman said that the Core Committee will once again deliberate with the NSCN-IM and the NNPGs after knowing about the Centre’s commitment. Zeliang said that doing so will bring both the groups to the negotiating table which he believes would resolve the differences soon.
Terming the meeting as a fruitful one, Zeliang in a significant statement said that the Core Committee has requested the NNPGs not to have a bitter war with any of its rival group or any other political party. Zeliang believes that if the NNPGs do so, then the interlocutor can take a free decision.
NNPG leader Isaac Sumi termed the meeting as a fruitful one and said that talks focused on bringing a logical conclusion to the Naga issue
