Assam is set to traverse the path of further development under the aegis of the PM Gati Shakti Mission. In a special session in Guwahati today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended a Gati Shakti mission meet virtually.

The meet was attended by Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of State for Petroleum Rameshwar Teli and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma among others. The meet was also attended by ministers from other states of the Northeast and other top officials.

Speaking on the occasion, Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said that Assam gets 22 percent of revenue from the production of oil and gases alone.

Puri also said that they are aiming that ethanol production would increase to 25 percent.

Puri further said that if the situation remains conducive then India would become a 5 trillion dollar economy by 2025 and a 10 trillion dollar economy by 2030.
