Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb today warned those involved in yesterday’s violence in the state.

At the same time, Deb who visited the GB Hospital in Agartala today to take stock of the condition of a police personnel who was injured in yesterday’s violence, also attacked the Congress and said that the government has identified all trouble makers.

He also accused the perpetrators of trying to disturb the peace and tranquility in the state.

Earlier yesterday, violence was reported in Agartala’s Banamalipur with an attack and a counter attack that took place between the Congress and BJP workers.

A series of incidents unfolded when miscreants resorted to violence during a Congress meeting, prompting leaders and workers of the party to flee from the spot.

Thereafter, Congress workers allegedly retaliated by attacking the BJP’s Banamalipur office. Police and CRPF troopers rushed to the spot and resorted to tear gas shelling to disperse the irate mob and prevent further violence.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Deb took stock of the injured policeman, identified as Srimanta Bhil, who happens to be a PSO for TIDC Chairman Tinku Roy.
