Meghalaya has launched the e-Daakhil portal for the redressal of consumer grievances. The portal was launched on Friday by Chief Secretary R.V. Suchiang to facilitate consumer complaints.

Speaking at the event, Rebbaca V Suchiang said that the e-Daakhil portal would help consumers file complaints easily. Suchiang added that e-Daakhil would help to deliver services to citizens in a timely, transparent, more accessible and reliable manner.

Aggrieved consumers can file complaints online within the comforts of their home without visiting consumer dispute redressal commissions.

An initiative of the Department of Consumer Affairs, the E-Daakhil portal is a consumer grievance redressal portal, which has been developed under the Consumer Protection Act 2019, and came into force in July 2020.

Meghalaya is the fifth state in the Northeast to launch e Daakhil. Other states in the Northeast are Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Nagaland, and Manipur.
