In a big relief for parents anxious for the children stranded in Ukraine, the first batch of Indian students have left Chernivtsi for the Ukraine-Romania border. Also the Ministry of External Affairs Camp Offices are now operational in Lviv and Chernivtsi towns in western Ukraine. The Embassy has also made arrangements for Additional Russian-speaking officials to be stationed in these Camp Offices.

This fresh development came as the Indian Embassy in Ukraine issued a fresh advisory to all Indian nationals and students stranded in Ukraine.

As per the new advisory, the Government of India is working with the Embassy to establish alternate evacuation routes from Romania and Hungary.

In this regard, teams have been deployed at two check points namely CHOP-ZAHONY at the Hungarian border near Uzhhorod and PORUBNE-SIRET along the Romanian border near Chernivtsi.

Indian nationals, especially students living closest to the border checkpoints have been advised to depart in an organised manner, in coordination with teams from the Ministry of External Affairs in order to actualise this option.
