In a sensational incident, one person was shot at by a person who is alleged to be his relative’s lover. The incident happened today at Guwahati’s Bangalibasti where a person identified as Prem Kumar Debnath was shot at by a man from West Bengal identified as Samar Roy.
As per police sources, Roy met the girl Mampi via online gaming and the two soon began a long-distance relationship. However, the relationship soon turned sour after Mampi developed cold feet on the question of marriage. After receiving repeated threats from her boyfriend, Mampi recently even filed a report at the Basistha police station in Guwahati.
However, today Samar Roy suddenly turned up from West Bengal in Guwahati and allegedly shot Prem Kumar after an altercation when the latter intervened. Police in the meantime have arrested Samar and his identification has been confirmed from the documents found on his person. The police have also seized the gun used by Samar.
The injured nephew meanwhile has been admitted to the Basistha army hospital.
