Karung Onkholer, the husband of six-time World Boxing Champion MC Mary Kom formally launched his election campaign for Manipur Assembly Elections from Manipur’s Samulamlan during a ceremonial programme.
The Chairman of his Election Committee, Haopu, hoisted the flag for Onkholer. Notably, Onkholer is contesting as an independent candidate from the Manipur’s Saikot Assembly Constituency for the forthcoming Assembly Elections.
Speaking exclusively to Northeast Live, Onkholer stated that he is planning to work for the people dedicatedly, adding that the Saikot constituency has long been neglected.
When asked about his wife Mary Kom’s absence, Onkholer said that she is preparing for the forthcoming Commonwealth and Asian Games.
