As the Covid-19 cases dip in the national capital, Delhi, the state government today lifted the weekend curfew.

The government has also removed the odd-even system of traders opening shops.

Meanwhile, schools and educational institutions, on the other hand, will remain closed until further orders are issued, and the DDMA will decide on this front at its next meeting.

Although the weekend curfew has been lifted in the state, the 10 pm to 5 am night curfew will remain in effect without any change for now.

The decision to lift the restrictions imposed during the Omicron surge was taken at a meeting of the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) headed by Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal.

Moreover, Cinemas, restaurants, and bars can all operate with 50 percent capacity and wedding guest numbers have been increased from 20 to 200.
Government offices have also been permitted to reopen with only half of their staff.

For the past few days, the Covid-19 test positivity rate in Delhi has been steadily declining.

Meanwhile, Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain said that the Covid situation in the state is under control. Today Delhi will report less than 5,000 cases and the positivity rate will also come down from the existing 10 percent, reported news Agencies.
