Ahead of Republic Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually interacted with the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar awardees today.

This year, 29 children from across the country were selected under different categories of the Bal Shakti Puraskar for the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar 2022. Among the 29 children selected for the Rashtriya Bal Puraskar Award are three children from the Northeast.

Dhritishman Chakraborty from Assam and Doulas Lembamayum from Manipur were selected under the Arts and Culture category, while Puhabi Chakraborty from Tripura was selected under the innovation category.

The students were selected on the basis of their achievements in six categories, including innovation, social service, academic, sports, art, culture, and bravery. The awardees will also participate in the Republic Day parade.

Each awardee was given a medal, a cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh, and a certificate. The certificates were given digitally using Blockchain technology. The certificates were also given to the winners of the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar 2021 and 22. The technology is being used for the first time for giving certificates to awardees.
