Itanagar Capital Region DC Talo Potom has informed that the government has decided to release around 20 detained members of the All Nyishi Youth Association (ANYA) including general secretary Bengia

Itanagar Capital Region DC Talo Potom has informed that the government has decided to release around 20 detained members of the All Nyishi Youth Association (ANYA) including general secretary Bengia Tada at the earliest.

As many as 50 activists from Itanagar and 7 from Naharlagun were arrested on January 13 during the 36-hour bandh called by the ANYA in the Itanagar Capital Region.

It may be mentioned that ANYA has called for another Itanagar shut down from January 18.

Meanwhile, DC Talo Potom termed the 48 hours called by the ANYA as unconstitutional.

He added that as per law, such protests are deemed unlawful by the constitution and the government reserves the right to take action to dismiss such bandh calls.

ANYA’s fresh bandh call also comes at a time when the Arunachal Police has given a clear indication of a big conspiracy being hatched in the garb of the shutdown to destabilize the law and order scenario of the Arunachal Capital.

The state police on Saturday had arrested the vice president of the organisation, Temi Pabo from Yazali gate in Lower Subansiri while he was on his way to Raga.

The arrest of the ANYA vice president comes a day after the president of the association Byabang Joram appealed for the release of all members detained by the police during the 36-hour bandh called.

It may be mentioned that the state police made some significant revelations in connection with the 36-hour bandh called by ANYA.

As per their preliminary investigation, anti-social elements were hired from outside the state to create a law and order situation in the state.

Police further said that the handlers offered money to the tune of Rs 10 lakh to the bandh callers for creating a serious law and order situation in the Itanagar Capital region.

The bandh callers, police alleged also had plans to target vital installations to create chaos.
