Jaiswal said that as many as 4 lakh eligible people in the State have not taken the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. He said that the remaining 18 percent eligible beneficiaries who are not showing up at the vaccination centres for the second dose are being traced through health teams and telephone calls to ensure that they get their prescribed dose.
He also appealed to the people to participate in the drive and to get inoculated in time on account of the emergence of the Omicron variant of coronavirus.
Meanwhile, Assam is all set to start its fresh vaccine drive for 13-15-year-olds from January 3 onwards.
