In the first operation conducted at Rechangre village near Dollongre, Garo Hills, two suspected IEDs hid in a green bag under a Pipe Culvert were recovered.
One of the IEDs was assembled in a pressure cooker while the other was assembled in a tin paint box.

In a separate incident, West Garo Hills Police recovered one live Grenade and six rounds of live 7.62mm ammunition from Du’magitok village, located around 15 kilometres from Tura.
In the interest of public safety, police have detonated the grenade at the spot.
Meanwhile, a case has been registered and an investigation into the case is underway.
The recovery of the explosives comes at a time when former Chief Minister and TMC leader Mukul Sangma had targeted the Conrad Sangma led MDA government over the issue of security in the hill state.
Mukul Sangma reiterated that militant movement continues in Meghalaya even as some of the groups are trying to reorganise.
Not only this, Sangma termed illegal mining of coal and other minerals as one of the major sources of funding for the groups.
