Former Chief Justice of India and current Rajya Sabha MP Ranjan Gogoi has made shocking revelations about former Assam Chief Minister Late Tarun Gogoi.

He was speaking at the launch of his autobiography – ‘Justice for the Judge’, in New Delhi on December 8th.

Ranjan Gogoi in his autobiography revealed that during his tenure as a judge at the Guwahati High Court, Tarun Gogoi had personally sought favourable orders in a case involving the Assam Government.

The then Chief Minister had invited his mother to Guwahati from Dibrugarh and surprisingly requested her to convince her son to rule in favour of the government.

However, his mother refused to comply with the request and left the CM’s residence. She conveyed everything that transpired in the meeting only after the hearing was over, Justice Gogoi added.

Former CJI Ranjan Gogoi also lauded the present Chief Minister of the state Himanta Biswa Sarma’s vast legal knowledge.

He stated that if CM Sarma had pursued a law degree, he could have undoubtedly been one of the top lawyers in the country.

Gogoi also recalled that Chief Minister Sarma had once explained to him about Income Tax laws.

He however maintained that a leader like Chief Minister Sarma must never resign from politics for the sake of the country’s development.
