Nagaland Governor Jagdish Mukhi extended financial aid to the family of Naga soldier Rifleman N Khatnei Konyak, who was killed along with six others in an ambush by militants on the convoy of the 46th Assam Rifles in Manipur on November 13.
A sum of Rs 3 lakh was handed over to Late N. Khatnei Konyak’s bereaved wife by Mon Deputy Commissioner Thavaseelan K on behalf of the Governor. Khatnei Konyak is survived by his wife and a 1 year old baby.
Earlier, Governor Mukhi had condemned the ambush by militants on the convoy of the 46 Assam Rifles at Sialsi village under Churachandpur district in Manipur.
Assam Rifles Colonel, his wife and 8 year old son, and four soldiers including Khatnei Konyak were killed in an ambush by militants, on the convoy of the 46th Assam Rifles in Churachandpur near the border with Myanmar on 13th November.
