In a major breakthrough, Manipur Police on Sunday recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition from the Thoubal district of Manipur and arrested three individuals including a United National Liberation Front (UNLF) cadre in the connection.

The UNLF cadre has been identified as Laithangbam Praffullo Singh.
17 Assault Rifles along with other warlike stores were recovered during an operation conducted by the Thoubal Police at Huikap Awang Leikai area in Thoubal.

Speaking on the seizure, Thoubal Superintendent of police (SP), Haobijam Jogeshchandra informed that a Thoubal Police team conducted the operation based on information about UNLF members were hiding a huge quantity of arms and ammunition in Huikap Awang Leikai.
