The last rites of the Assam Rifle jawan Rajendra Prasad Meena who lost his life in the Manipur ambush on November 13 was performed with state honours today evening.
Rajendra Prasad Meena of 46 Assam Rifles was a resident of Dausa district in Rajasthan.
Emotions ran high as the mortal remains of the brave-heart reached his native place, where civilians from across the district already gathered to pay their heartfelt tributes and last respects to the martyred.
R.P Meena’s mortal remains arrived at his native place this evening.
It may be mentioned that an Indian Army plane carrying the mortal remains of the Assam Rifle jawans who lost their lives in the Manipur ambush had to make an emergency landing at the Jorhat airport due to a technical snag on Sunday.
The mortal remains of the jawans were kept overnight in Jorhat and was taken to their respective destinations today.
Meanwhile, the mortal remains of Colonel Viplav Tripathi, his wife and 8-year-old son, who were killed in the dastardly attack has also arrived at Chhattisgarh’s capital Raipur.
State Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and other public representatives and officials were present there to pay tribute to the martyred colonel at Raipur airport.
