Members of the Voice of People of Mawlai along with activists of the Khasi Students Union, FKJGP and HNYF staged another sit in protest in Shillong on Monday reiterating their demand for suspension of at least two senior cops in connection with the encounter of former HNLC leader Cheristerfield Thangkiew.

RBYF members also extended support to the demonstration.

This is a part of the series of protests organized by the Voice of People of Mawlai to press for their demand for suspension of cops.

The State government, meanwhile, has maintained that there would be no action against the cops until the judicial inquiry report is out.
