Sangma said that no major incident of violence was reported in the city in the last 24 hours.

Lots of discussions have been held with different stakeholders as wells as other individuals to pave way for peace in Shillong, he added.

The government has sent its message to the stakeholders urging that peace prevails in the city at the earliest.

Reacting to the comments made by the leader of Opposition Mukul Sangma on different aspects of governance, Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma said that the Congress party is desperate and is only making moves to topple the government.

He further said that some Congress MLAs had called him to apologize because they are ashamed of the way Mukul Sangma has been making comments. He said that the leadership in Congress is not there and his behavior is shameful for the party.
