Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday once again sent out a stern warning to criminals and reiterated about the government’s zero Tolerance policy against crime.

In a reply during the ongoing session of the state assembly, Chief Minister Sarma said that every operation against criminals have been carried out under the ambit of law.

Retorting to Opposition’s jibe on the series of police shootouts, the Chief Minister said that Section 46 of the CrPC allow cops to shoot at leg if a criminal tries to flee from police custody.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that such attempts by the opposition will only weaken the spirit of the cops in dealing with crimes.
