Satyadev Narayan Arya on Monday took over as the 19th Governor of Tripura, and he was given a ceremonial guard of honour after his arrival at the Agartala Raj Bhavan.

The newly-appointed and 19th Governor of Tripura, Satyadev Narayan Arya, arrived in Agartala on Monday afternoon.
Arya was also welcomed at the Raj Bhavan by chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb, deputy CM Jishnu Dev Varma, revenue minister NC Debbarma, education minister Ratan Lal Nath, social welfare and social education minister Santana Chakma, Assembly Speaker Rebati Mohan Das and MP Rebati Tripura.
High officials of the state administration were also present at the Raj Bhavan to welcome the Governor.
Taking to Twitter, Biplab Deb tweeted “I am happy to welcome the newly appointed Hon’ble Governor of Tripura, Shri S.N. Aryaji, to Agartala on behalf of the entire People of Tripura today.”

The 84-year-old is a former Governor of Haryana, and is also a senior BJP leader from the state of Bihar.
Speaking to the media after the ceremony, Governor Arya said that his government will constantly work for the prosperity and development of Tripura.
President Ram Nath Kovind recently appointed Satyadev Narayan Arya as the new Governor of Tripura replacing outgoing Governor Ramesh Baism, who has been appointed as the Governor of Jharkhand.
