The 86th birth anniversary of His Holiness, the 14th Dalai Lama was observed in various parts of Arunachal Pradesh on Tuesday.
To mark the occasion, a plantation drive was organized at Boha village under Kalaktang Sub-division of West Kameng district today.
As many as 113 sapling trees were planted to symbolize an active life of 113 years for His Holiness while prayers were also offered for his good health.
Meanwhile, the birth anniversary of His Holiness, the 14th Dalai Lama was also observed at the Thubchog Gatsel Ling Monastery in Bomdila.
His Eminence, the 12th Guru Tulku Rinpoche highlighting the contributions of Dalai Lama said that Dalai Lama has immensely contributed in disseminating the teachings of Lord Buddha, and popularising the Cannons of Buddha in the Western world and in the Indian Subcontinent.
Current and former disciples of the monastery besides other dignitaries present thanked the Guru for His words of wisdom and for making the event a successful one.
