Junior doctors of the Agartala Government Medical College & GBP Hospital on Thursday staged a sit-in-demonstration within the college premises demanding hike in their stipends.
While speaking to mediapersons, the protesting doctors said that they have submitted a memorandum to the officials of the medical college demanding hike in their stipends, but so far nothing has been done.
The doctors even threatened to intensify their stir if their demands are not met and will stop working in the non-emergency services.
The protesting doctors are of the opinion that the stipends they currently receive are way below their expectations.
