Manipur: Assam Rifles recover 1.5 kg Heroin worth Rs 6 crore, one arrested

As part of Manipur government’s initiative on war against drugs, troops of Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (East) on Friday recovered 1.5 kilograms of Heroin near the Indo-Myanmar
As part of Manipur government’s initiative on war against drugs, troops of Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (East) on Friday recovered 1.5 kilograms of Heroin near the Indo-Myanmar border in Sangaikot sub-division of Churachandpur district.
The approximate cost of the recovered contraband item is estimated to be around Rs 6 crore.
With an aim to curb rampant trans border smuggling, the Churachandpur Battalion of the Assam Rifles launched a surveillance operation near the Indo-Myanmar Border and successfully apprehended a drug smuggler along with the highly-valued psychotropic drug.
The arrested individual has been identified as Lang Hau Suan. He was later handed over to Churachandpur Police Station for further investigation.
