Covid battle: Centre provides 150 ventilators to Manipur

In a boost to Manipur’s fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, the state has received 150 ventilators under the PM Cares fund. This was informed by Chief Minister N Biren Singh in a virtual address to the public on Thursday.
The Chief Minister informed that the Manipur government has received 150 AgVa ICU ventilators (both invasive and non-invasive) from the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare under the PM Care Fund, which in addition to the existing life saving equipments in the state will suffice in meeting the current demand.
It may be mentioned that the Centre had earlier supplied 90 ventilators to Manipur under the PM Cares fund, which has been installed at the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) in Imphal.
Biren Singh said that the Central Government had also provided 400 oxygen concentrators and 500 D-Type oxygen cylinders. The State had also received two RT-PCR machines from UNICEF, and one each has been given to JNIMS and RIMS, he said.
Additionally, CM Biren Singh informed that the state government is planning to install oxygen production plants in all district headquarters in the days to come, the work for which has already begun in Churachandpur and Thoubal districts.
The Chief Minister in his address, once again made a fervent appeal to the people of the state to strictly follow all the Covid SOPs and guidelines issued by the government.
