Assam CM Sonowal holds review meeting on COVID-19 situation

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Monday chaired a key meeting with Health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and other senior officials to review the COVID-19 situation. DGP Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta, chief secretary Jishnu Barua were also present in the meeting.
Taking to Twitter Sonowal informed, “Discussed the roadmap ahead to combat the ongoing #COVID19 situation in presence of Health Minister Shri @himantabiswa and senior officials in Guwahati. We are taking all measures to keep citizens safe and healthy. Do #WearMask and please follow Govt guidelines.”

The Chief Minister instructed the concerned departments to speed up Covid testing at vulnerable places including railway station, bus terminus and airports. He also urged the health department to take special care in those districts where over 100 positive cases were reported.
Senior health officials informed the Chief Minister that Assam has sufficient stocks of vaccine and oxygen among others.
Talking to mediapersons after the meeting, CM Sarbananda Sonowal urged the people to take utmost precautions and follow the SOPs issued by the state government to tackle the pandemic.
