The forest fire which broke out at Tingley in South Sikkim in the wee hours of Monday night has now been completely brought under control on Wednesday.
The devastating fire caused extensive damage to the nearby Namthang Nagi forest areas, destroying huge number of trees and timbers belonging to a monastery were also damaged.
Multiple fire brigade teams were pressed into action and after relentless efforts by the fire fighters the blazing inferno was doused this morning.
As per sources, the fire fighters are now busy dousing the residual fire in the lower foothills of the Nagi hills.
