A steel bridge over Phamrong river in West Sikkim caved in as three fully loaded trucks tried to cross it on Tuesday evening.
The incident took place in Labing, around 10 km away from Yuksam yesterday evening around 7:30 PM, according to district officials.
As per reports, the bridge came crashing down due to the heavy weight of the trucks which was carrying construction materials leading to the mishap.
It was further reported that one of the truck drivers sustained serious injuries, while two others escaped unhurt.
The mishap led to the suspension of road communications creating difficulties for residents in the area.
