Assam polls: Heavyweight candidates file nominations for third phase

With just a day left for the nomination process, top candidates have submitted their nomination papers on Thursday for the Assam Assembly elections.

Accompanied by top BJP leader Himanta Biswa Sarma, party candidate Siddhartha Bhattacharya took part in a massive cycle rally as they arrived to file their nomination papers for the Assembly elections. The rally witnessed huge participation of party workers and well-wishers.

Other leaders who filed their nomination papers include BJP Dispur candidate Atul Bora, AJP candidate from Hajo, Dulu Ahmed, Congress candidate from Jalukbari, Ramen Barthakur, AGP candidate from Guwahati West, Ramendra Narayan Kalita, among others.

BPF leader and minister in the Sarbananda Sonowal led cabinet, Pramila Rani Brahma also filed her nomination today for the ensuing elections.

Brahma who is in fray from the Kokrajhar East seat exuded confidence of winning the polls. Besides, Brahma also lashed out at the BJP and said that ‘Mahajut’ will form the next government.
