Assam: Pramod Boro announces slew of schemes for BTR

Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) chief executive member (CEM) Pramod Boro on Friday announced a slew of schemes for the development of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR).

Addressing a press conference at Kokrajhar, Boro said that his council has taken up various schemes for the welfare of the people living in the region.

The ‘Onsungthai’ scheme will provide financial assistance to ailing, elderly, poor, differently-abled and meritorious students from poor socio-economic background, said Boro.

Similarly, 100 e-rickshaws will be distributed among unemployed youths of the BTR.

While Rs. 30 thousand will be provided to each Self Help Group (SHG), Rs. 1 lakh will be provided to the eligible beneficiaries for promoting ‘Bio-Flock Fisheries’ under the ‘Bodoland Swaniyojon Yojna’.

Another flagship scheme ‘Bodoland Gwrib Kalyan Yojna’ will benefit rickshaw/Thela pullers, daily wage earners with an assistance of Rs. 10 thousand.

Initiatives have also been taken for the migrant labourers returning to their homes amid COVID-19 crisis. The ‘Bodoland Swaniyojan Yojna’ will provide Rs. 10 thousand to migrant workers of the region.

Meanwhile, riot victim families will get Rs. 10 thousand under the ‘Bodoland Ansai Yojna’.
