Latest visuals from the Indo-Myanmar Friendship Gate 1 in Manipur’s border town Moreh, has revealed the plight of Burmese citizens as the country breaths under Military rule.

As per reports, Burmese citizens as well as officials of Myanmar’s Immigration Department were seen holding huge placards with the words ‘Save Myanmar’ in a desperate effort to draw India’s attention on their current plight under military rule.

The Burmese citizens who were holding the banner on the Burmese side of the Indo-Myanmar Friendship gate, even held the Indian flag.

Myanmar’s capital Yangon along with the rest of the country has witnessed major protest after the Military launched a coup earlier this month and detained Aung San Suu Kyi, Win Myint and other political leaders.

The military had also announced a one-year state of emergency in the country, vowing to “take action” against alleged voter fraud during the November 8 general election, which saw Suu Kyi’s NLD party win resoundingly.

The military had also stated it was committed to the democratic system and vowed to hold new and fair elections after the state of emergency ends.
