Manipur has become the best state in the Northeast in the implementation of ‘e-office file management system’ and the state has its eyes set on becoming the best in the entire country.

So far, Manipur has implemented e-office system in as many as 62 Departments across 16 districts of Manipur, after Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched the State-wide rollout of the system during his visit to the State in December last year.

Encouraging the move, Chief Minister N Biren Singh today distributed 186 desktop computer sets to different departments for the implementation of ‘e-office file management system’ at a function organized by General Administration Department (GAD) at the Conference Hall of Secretariat South Block.

Chief Secretary Dr Rajesh Kumar, Administrative Secretaries and other high ranking officials also attended the function.

It may be mentioned that the total number of users created so far is 970 and the total number of e-files created is 13,872. On the other hand 40,850 e-Desks have been created and 6,848 legacy files have been digitized, making Manipur the leading State in the NorthEast in terms of e-Office implementation.

CM Biren Singh had launched the ‘e-office file management system’ for Manipur Secretariat on September 8 last year. The Union Home Minister Amit Shah, during his visit to Manipur on December 27, 2020, launched the state-wide rollout for the same.

Furthermore, as per reports, the state govt plans to gradually introduce e-office system in all the 68 Government Directorates and 53 Societies/Corporations/Govt. Undertakings/Agencies, bringing the total number of users to around 30,000.
