A sizeable number of Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) MCLAs is set to join the UPPL-BJP led coalition in the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC)
Chief Executive Member (CEM) designate Pramod Boro on Monday claimed that at least six newly elected BPF MCLAs are mulling to jump ship ahead of the formation of the new council in BTC.
“Newly elected representatives of the BPF have got in touch with our party and they will join us,” the UPPL chief said.
Pramod Boro, who is all set to be sworn-in as the new chief of BTC in Kokrajhar on Tuesday, further said that he would disclose the names at the right time after the swearing-in ceremony.
Meanwhile, Tamulpur MLA Emmanuel Mosahary who recently joined the BJP after quitting the BPF also confirmed that a section of newly elected representatives have expressed their willingness to join the UPPL, while some of them are also in touch with the BJP leadership.
On the other hand, ABSU president Dipen Boro said that at least 6 BPF MCLA’s will jump ship after the swearing-in ceremony.
