Union Minister Kiren Rijiju kick-started his campaign in Mizoram for the upcoming election to the 25-member Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC) on Wednesday.
The Union Sports Minister arrived at the Lengpui Airport a two-day campaign in the LADC and directly left for Lawngtlai district in the Southern most part of Mizoram.
Talking to newspersons, Rijiju asserted that with only 17 BJP candidates out of 25 seats, BJP is still a strong party to win the election at the area.
Rjijiju further said that the main agenda for the party would be the Amendment of the 6th Schedule, so that direct funding would be made for the three Autonomous District Councils.
Meanwhile, commenting on the Mizoram- Assam border issue, Rijiju said that there should be peace and tranquility along the border areas and that there is a provision that DC’s of the respective District should meet regularly.
