Riiohlang Dhar and Ranjita Devi Tekcham selected as FIFA International referee

In a proud moment for the region, Riiohlang Dhar, a woman constable from Meghalaya Police and Ranjita Devi Tekcham from Manipur have been selected in the elite list of FIFA International referee.

Tekcham and Dhar are among the four women referee selected from the country. While Tekcham has been named as a referee, Dhar, has been selected as an assistant referee in the FIFA list.

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma took to Twitter to wish Dhar on her big achievement.

“Big congratulations to WC Riiohlang Dhar, 1st MLP, for qualifying as a #FIFA International Referee. She is among 4 #women selected from India. Wishing her good luck and many more success!” Sangma tweeted.

In 2018, Riiohlang Dhar was one of the three FIFA women referees from India to pass the course for ‘elite’ referees by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).

The two other women referees selected in the list are Barman Kanika and Uvena Fernandes.
