The 70th Assam Police day is being celebrated at 4th APBN in Kahilipara, Guwahati today. The celebration took place in the presence of Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal and other dignitaries of the state.
The Assam Police day is observed in remembrance of IPS KR Choudhary, who took over as Assam Police Chief on October 1 in 1951.
On the occasion, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal tweeted, “জনহিতজনসেৱাৰ্থে A motto that reflects a solemn promise to always serve the people, in all and any adversity. On the 70th #AssamPoliceDay, my greetings and salutations to the personnel & family members of this brave & historic organisation. @assampolice.”
Health and Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also paid his respects to the state’s police personnel and their families.
“On #AssamPoliceDay, I salute the bravehearts of @assampolice & their families who have always been ready to serve in the line of duty. The day is observed in remembrance of IPS Shri KR Choudhary, who took over as #AssamPolice Chief on October 1 in 1951,” Sarma tweeted.
