In a landmark achievement in the fight against COVID-19, Assam has completed 2,54,726 tests in the last two days. The number of active cases stands at 34,241.

On September 28, the state health department targeted to conduct 1 lakh COVID-19 tests per day for the next three days, till September 30. The health department is on a mission to conduct over 3 lakh tests within three days.

The health department successfully conducted 1,20,156 tests on Monday, of which 3,644 cases tested positive. Whereas, 3,592 cases tested positive out of 1,38,570 tests yesterday.

A total of 680 people have died due to COVID-19 in Assam, including 13 fatalities on Tuesday. The total number of cases rose to 1,77,221 in the state.
