Assam government has re-constituted the State Level Police Recruitment Board (SLPRB) with Director General of Police (DGP) Bhaskarjyoti Mahanta as its new chairman, along with additional DGP Harmeet Singh as member secretary and ADGP LR Bishnoi and IGP Hiren Nath as its members.
Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Monday reconstituted the State Level Police Recruitment Board, after former Chairman Pradip Kumar, a retired IPS officer, quit the post following the leakage of the question paper of the Assam Police Sub-Inspector recruitment test.
“The board has been reconstituted with a view to ensure a transparent recruitment to the posts of sub-inspector in Assam Police,” the CM’s office said in a statement.
Sonowal further directed the Board to complete the written examination within 20th November 2020.
Former DIG PK Dutta, the prime accused in the case, has been absconding since last Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Assam Police has announced Rs 1 lakh cash reward each for anyone providing information about the whereabouts of the prime accused.
