Meghalaya CM, Dy CM in quarantine after power minister tests positive for COVID-19

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma and Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong went into quarantine on Monday, after State Power Minister James Sangma who accompanied them to New Delhi tested positive for COVID-19 at Imphal airport on Saturday.
Health Minister AL Hek informed that the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister are currently under quarantine and their RT-PCR tests results are awaited.
It may be mentioned that the Power Minister had tested positive at Manipur airport had also tested positive for the virus on a second re-test, which was conducted on Sunday.
The state has registered 139 new cases on Monday, taking the total number of active cases to 1,686, while two more succumbed to the infection.
Meanwhile, so far 1,15,901 samples have been sent for testing, negative 11,173, results awaited 964 and the number of entrants so far is 36,202.
