The doubling time of COVID-19 positive cases in Assam has witnessed a considerable increase. Now the doubling time in Assam is 20 days, stated health, finance and education minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet on Monday.

“Slowly doubling time of positive cases is increasing. Surely a positive indication. Now it is 20 days,” Sarma wrote on Twitter.

While the doubling time on August 3 was 16 days with total 45,275 COVID-19 cases, it has increased to 20 days on August 23 with a tally of 90,740. On July 18 and 5, the doubling time was 13 days.
