Assam reports 1,123 COVID-19 positive cases; death toll rises to 145

With 1,123 new cases detected out of 24,492 tests conducted in the last 24 hours, the total number of COVID-19 cases in Assam reached 58,837 on Sunday.

Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted, “1,123 COVID cases detected out of 24,492 tests in last 24 hrs.”

“Positivity rate- 4.58%. Kamrup (M)- 240 Jorhat- 121,” Sarma added.

(Total cases: 58,837, Recovered: 40,591, Active cases: 18,098, Deaths 145)

On the other hand, five more patients succumbed to the viral infection on Sunday. With this the death toll in the state has risen to 145.

Meanwhile, continuing with the large recovery rate consecutively for the second day, 1,734  more patients were discharged from different hospitals and Covid Care Centres in Assam.

The active cases now stands at 16,364, while 42,325 persons have recovered so far from the disease.
