Union Tourism Minister virtually inaugurates world class Thenzawl Golf Resort project in Mizoram

Union Tourism Minister Prahlad Singh Patel virtually inaugurated the Thenzawl Golf Resort Project implemented under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme of Ministry of Tourism, in presence of Tourism Minister of Mizoram
Union Tourism Minister Prahlad Singh Patel virtually inaugurated the Thenzawl Golf Resort Project implemented under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme of Ministry of Tourism, in presence of Tourism Minister of Mizoram Shri Robert Romawia Royte and Commissioner and Secretary for Tourism Department of Government of Mizoram Smt. Esther Lalruatkimi in New Delhi on Tuesday.
The Project was sanctioned under the Integrated Development of New Eco-Tourism under Swadesh Darshan- North East Circuit at Thenzawl & South Zote, District Serchhip and Reiek, Mizoram with a sanctioned amount of Rs 92.25 Crore out of which an amount of Rs 64.48 Crore was sanctioned for various components at Thenzawl including the Golf Course.
The Indian Golf Union has awarded Thenzawl Golf Course Certification on 15th July, 2019.
The total site area is 105 acres and the play area is 75 acres – 18 Hole Golf Course with Sharing Fairway and automated sprinkler irrigation system. It is designed to have facilities of international standards.
At the inaugural speech, the Union Tourism Minister thanked the people of Mizoram for the completion of the project. He also said that Mizoram is an important state for the completion of ‘Act East India Policy’.
We will support you in all your ventures, but with tourism we should also focus on getting locals a job related to tourism, he added.
Tourism Minister of Mizoram Robert Romawia Royte said that the Government of Mizoram is extremely delighted by the establishment of this project.
Royte further said that the Golf Course is one of the best in the country with world class facilities. He also hoped the new initiative under the Tourism Department will make a huge impact to the tourism sector in the state.
Golf tourism in India has a strong potential since the climatic condition is more favourable as compared to most countries.
The Ministry of Tourism endeavours to work as a catalyst and active supporter for the development of Golf Tourism in the country.
