Two new areas declared ‘containment zone’ in Guwahati

The Kamrup (Metropolitan) district administration has declared two places in Guwahati as containment zones on Tuesday. Haryana Bhawan in Bharalumkh and NR Path in Bhootnath, Guwahati are classified as containment zones.

After 2 persons tested COVID-19 positive from Bhoothnath area in Guwahati, the Kamrup(M) District Administration declared N.R Path as containment zone. The two positive patients are a father and daughter and residents of Bhoothnath. According to sources, both the positive patients came in contact with Mungru Sahani who was the first one to test COVID19 positive from Alu Godam area of Fancy Bazar.

“Swaraj Singh and her daughter tested positive. He is the owner of Rajkamal Hotel. In this containment zone more than 1000 people are present,” said a local resident.

On the other hand, Haryana Bhawan situated in Bharalumukh, Guwahati has also been declared as Containment Zone. The Haryana Bhawan was being used as a quarantine centre and two persons tested positive from there.
