Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday visited Kaziranga University at Jorhat which is being set up on lines of Sarusajai Stadium in Guwahati.

Massive screening and quarantine facilities will be set-up at the university to control COVID-19 pandemic. Stranded people coming from other states will be screened and quarantined at the university.

Sarma was accompanied by Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Pijush Hazarika, Jorhat MP Tapan Kumar Gogoi and Rajya Sabha MP Kamakhya Prasad Tasa.

The Health Minister reviewed the preparedness of the medical teams and infrastructure to deal with the pandemic.
